Kunal Parekh, MD, FASN
Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine
Dr. Kunal Parekh is a board-certified nephrologist and founder of Oahu Kidney Care in Honolulu. He earned his medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine, completed internal medicine residency at New York Medical College, and fellowship training in nephrology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He serves as Chief of Nephrology at Queen’s Health Systems and is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Parekh is known for providing thoughtful, personalized care to patients with all types of kidney-related conditions. He emphasizes open communication, careful listening, and long-term relationships built on trust. His approach blends deep medical expertise with genuine compassion for his patients and their families. He is also actively involved in community health through the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii. Outside of medicine, Dr. Parekh enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, hiking, and exploring the natural beauty of the islands.
Josette M.K. Dudoit, APRN-Rx, FNP-BC, RD
Josette Dudoit is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and a valued member of the team at Oahu Kidney Care. Her journey in nephrology began in 2007 during an internship at Ball State University, where she developed a passion for kidney health and preventive care. After graduating in 2009, she moved to Molokai as the island’s only Registered Dietitian, where she focused on addressing public health disparities in Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. Motivated by her experiences, she pursued advanced nursing training to expand her impact. As both a nurse practitioner and dietitian, Josette brings a unique, holistic perspective to patient care, blending medical insight with nutritional expertise. She is known for her calm, approachable demeanor, thoroughness, and deep commitment to improving the lives of those she serves. When not in clinic, Josette enjoys hula, spending time with her ‘ohana, exploring nature, and staying connected to her local roots.
